

For me, Youtube isn't even a consideration at all. Use the free website, Loudness Penalty ( ) to see the loudness adjustments the various streaming platforms will make to your song. Let's just assume that was done and wasn't mentioned. Maybe you did that and forgot to mention it, but that's 80% of mixing right there. It sounds like you just gain-staged them to -3db (which is high, imo) and went straight to EQ and compression. However, the first thing most people will point out is in your description you didn't actually say that you adjusted the faders to balance the volume levels of the tracks relative to each other.

You'll probably get lots of advice on mixing and mastering everybody has their own way of doing it.
